The Chrysalis Collection.
Celebrate the metamorphosis of love with The Chrysalis Collection as a cocoon cradles the transforming butterfly, offering protection from the winds of change that swirl around it, so too are the diamonds at the centre of each Chrysalis piece protected and surrounded with love. Ever-changing and ever-growing, love evolves as we celebrate every milestone. We draw strength from our traditions symbolized in the scrolls and arches of each piece and we honour the support of family and community that is entwined in the leaves and flowers sculpted on the back of each pendant and bracelet. These connections allow our love to transcend all difficulties and to remain resilient and vigilant. Allow each Chrysalis piece to embrace and sanctify your love as you move forward to shine brightly.

The Flower of Dettah.
This design has great personal meaning for me as it encaptures my learning of the diamond industry, its environmental guardianship, and the cultural influence of the Dene First Nations in Yellowknife. My inspiration for this pendant began when I was given a tour of the Chief Drygreese Centre and learned of the connections between the Dene culture and the diamond industry. The striking architecture of the building, the beautiful artwork and the achievements displayed within helped to inform the overall design of this piece. This design also includes the technical aspects of cutting and polishing a diamond which I was guided through during my time at the Diamonds De Canada facility.
Technical Details.
The overall design of this flower pendant is that of 10 petals and one leaf.
The front view of the pendant is based on the pavilion facets and the back view reflects the crown facets of a diamond. The connection between these plates is the "girdle". My diamond is set in a 5-prong setting which reflects the 5 windowpanes at the top of the Chief Drygeese Centre. I have translated the leaf wing of the centre as an organic, wave-shaped leaf in which I have incorporated a gold mesh. I feel that this design helps to balance the geometric shapes with the flower petals.
At the center of the design is the actual diamond that I polished with guidance from the Diamonds De Canada expert. It reminds me of the incredible people I met and the skills I learned while in Yellowknife. It inspires me to continue my journey as a goldsmith/ jewellery designer and to be an ambassador for Canadian Diamonds.
